Preparation of Regional Analysis Reports on Green Economic Opportunities and Challenges
As part of the Turkey Social Inclusive Green Transformation Project, it is tasked with preparing the "Regional Analysis Reports on Green Economic Opportunities and Challenges" for Turkey's 26 Level-2 Regions. The aim of the project is to ensure that vulnerable groups, particularly women and youth, can benefit from the green transformation; to reveal the ecological, economic, and social vulnerabilities of the regions, to identify vulnerable groups and the priority sectors that have the potential to create employment for these groups, thus defining regional priorities for green investments, initiatives, and infrastructure projects that will be financed under components 1 and 2. In this context; a standard methodology applicable to all regions will be developed, vulnerable provinces and districts will be identified, socio-economic and environmental vulnerabilities of groups will be analyzed, sectors with the potential to support women and youth will be determined, and a "Green Economic Opportunities and Challenges Report" will be prepared for each Development Agency.
As part of this project, the following services have been provided by our personnel:
Development of a standard analysis methodology to be implemented in all Level-2 regions during the initial phase of the project; determining quantitative and qualitative data collection approaches and preparing the project work plan.
Designing participatory processes; developing online surveys, focus group discussions, stakeholder meetings, and qualitative data collection tools.
Determining ecological, economic, and social vulnerability indicators and assessing the availability of data regarding the necessary indicators for regional vulnerability analyses.
Examining existing reports, climate change programs, regional plans, sector reports, and statistical data; conducting desktop data collection studies for each Development Agency.
Identifying vulnerable provinces/districts based on quantitative analyses (statistical review, vulnerability measurement through indicators) and qualitative analyses (interviews with stakeholders, outputs of participatory processes).
Analyzing vulnerable groups such as women, youth, low-skilled workers, unemployed individuals, rural agricultural and forestry workers, and seasonal workers through socio-economic indicators in the regions.
Creating a "positive sector list" for sectors compatible with green transformation; evaluating sectors based on environmental importance and strategic importance criteria.
Preparing a separate "Regional Green Economic Opportunities and Challenges Analysis Report" for 26 Development Agencies; providing recommendations for vulnerable regions, vulnerable groups, and priority sectors in the reports.
Compiling findings from participatory processes, preparing report appendices, and evaluating stakeholder feedback.
Providing technical support for workshop organization to present project outputs to MoIT, Development Agencies, and relevant stakeholders.
