Capacity Building for Combatting and Adapting to Climate Change in the Thrace Region - Climate Change and Its Effects Modeling Study Project
This has been carried out to analyze the current and future effects of climate change in the Thrace Region, to increase adaptation capacity against these effects, and to develop sustainable strategies at the regional level. In this study, the climate parameters of the region have been evaluated, and climate change scenarios have been modeled using meteorological and hydrological data. The project reveals the effects of climate change on agriculture, water resources, ecosystems, and settlement areas; it provides a scientific basis for reducing effects and developing adaptation policies at the regional level.
Within the scope of this project, the following services have been provided by our personnel:
Collection and analysis of climate, meteorological, and hydrological data related to the Thrace Region,
Determination of climate change indicators and evaluation of the current situation,
Conducting modeling studies under different climate scenarios (RCP 4.5, RCP 8.5, etc.),
Interpretation of model results and analysis of the regional impacts of climate change (water resources, agriculture, natural ecosystems, etc.),
Development of adaptation and mitigation strategies, formulation of capacity enhancement proposals,
Reporting of findings, preparation of graphical presentations, and sharing of results with stakeholders.
