Preparation of the Sectoral Water Allocation Plan for the Yeşilırmak Basin
The purpose of preparing the "Yeşilırmak Basin Sectoral Water Allocation Plan" is to ensure the fair, efficient, and sustainable allocation of water resources among sectors at the basin and sub-basin scale in the Yeşilırmak Basin. The project includes analyzing the existing physical, hydrological, hydrogeological, ecological, socio-economic, climatic, and sectoral characteristics of the basin; determining the water potential of the basin along with current and future water demands; and developing water allocation models for different projection years and drought scenarios. Additionally, the project covers the analysis of water demands, water footprint calculations, the creation of sectoral scenarios, modeling studies, action plans, allocation plan maps, and the preparation of the methodology report.
In this project, the following services have been provided by our personnel:
Preparation of the work plan at the beginning of the project, creation of the work schedule, and coordination of the project team.
Collection, examination, and preparation of the Existing Situation Analysis Report regarding all data related to the geographical, administrative, physical, hydrogeological, ecological, climatic, and socio-economic characteristics of the Yeşilırmak Basin.
Determination of the water potential of the surface and groundwater resources in the basin; calculation of current and future water uses related to drinking usage, agriculture, industry, energy, aquaculture, livestock, and other sectors.
Creation of population projections, sector-based development trends, and water demand projections; analysis of all factors affecting the increase in water demands.
Development of drought scenarios (normal, mild, moderate, severe, and very severe) throughout the basin and assessment of their effects on water demand.
Analysis of crop patterns, irrigation water needs, irrigation efficiencies, plant production analyses, and agricultural drought assessments related to the agricultural sector.
Determination of water usage values in sectors such as energy, industry, tourism, aquaculture, and livestock, and creation of demand projections.
Preparation of draft and final versions of the Water Demand Analysis Report.
Establishment of the water allocation model deemed appropriate by the administration; execution of modeling studies for current situation, projection years, and drought conditions, and preparation of the Modeling Report.
Development of optimum sectoral water use scenarios based on model results; evaluation of socio-economic impacts and determination of the most suitable allocation strategies.
Preparation of the Sectoral Water Allocation Plan, Action Plan, Methodology Report, and Sectoral Water Allocation Maps; production of data in formats compatible with GIS and delivery in accordance with integration with the National Water Information System.
Analysis of the water footprint of the basin; preparation of water footprint calculations for sectors and strategic products.
Preparation of technical content for events such as the opening meeting, basin information meeting, model usage training, and closing meeting, and support for organizational processes.
Ensure regular coordination with the administration, conduct field visits, and manage the approval processes of the reports.
