Consulting services for the preparation of Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Management Guidelines aimed at combating Climate Change for Water Authorities in Turkey (Sustainable Cities Project Component A)

The purpose of this project is to prepare a Guide for the implementation of NRW management for WUDs. This Guide will be implemented by WUDs to develop the most cost-effective NRW management that will provide not only technical and financial benefits but also the most significant socio-economic benefits. This task aims to prepare a Guide for the effective and sustainable management of water resources in Turkish municipalities by reducing the amount of non-revenue water (NRW). An in-depth analysis of water use at the municipal level will be conducted in the selected municipality, evaluating water use efficiency and water pricing practices (tariffs), and finally, appropriate measures will be recommended to prevent water and energy losses and improve pricing as an adaptation activity to climate change. Based on the reviewed documents, a selection methodology was prepared under the initial report and sent to ILBANK for Component A cities. As a result, the municipalities selected by ILBANK from the provinces supported through Component A cities have been identified in cooperation with the World Bank and the EU Delegation.
