Preparation of Scientific Calculations and Technical Report for the Concentrated Saltwater Discharge of Turgutreis RO Facility in Bodrum District of Muğla Province
This project covers the scientific evaluations regarding the discharge of concentrated salty water resulting from the operation of the Turgutreis Reverse Osmosis (RO) Drinking Water Treatment Plant located in the Bodrum district of Muğla province into the sea. Within the scope of the study, the physical-chemical properties of the concentrated flow will be determined; mixing, dilution, dispersion, and potential environmental impacts in the marine environment will be analyzed using scientific methods. Additionally, modeling and calculations will be conducted considering the hydrodynamic characteristics of the discharge point, current structure, sea depth, and seasonal variations; a technical report will be prepared to assess the environmental suitability of the discharge based on the results obtained.
Within the scope of this project, the following services will be provided by our personnel:
Collection and analysis of flow and salinity data of the RO plant's concentrate stream,
Evaluation of the hydrodynamic and oceanographic characteristics of the marine area where discharge will occur,
Calculation of the dissemination and dilution behavior of concentrated saline water in the sea using scientific methods,
Conducting two/three-dimensional hydrodynamic modeling studies when necessary,
Evaluation of the suitability of the discharge point, mixing zone characteristics, and potential environmental impacts,
Technical comparison of alternative discharge scenarios,
Development of recommendations for implementation and creation of solutions to ensure environmental compliance,
Preparation of a technical report that includes all calculations, analyses, and evaluations, and submission to the employer.
