Istanbul Leather Organized Industrial Zone Waste Sludge Removal Project
The project covers the reduction of the amount of waste sludge generated from the wastewater treatment plant located in the Istanbul Leather Organized Industrial Zone (İDOOSB) and aims to ensure the disposal of sludge through anaerobic digestion while also producing electric energy. Within the scope of the project, the existing sludge formation quantity has been analyzed; the feasibility of applying the anaerobic digestion process has been evaluated from technical, economic, and environmental perspectives. The potential for electricity generation from the biogas that will be produced as a result of the anaerobic sludge digestion process has been calculated, and the overall feasibility of the system has been presented in a detailed report.
Within the scope of this project, the following services have been provided by our personnel:
Evaluation of the existing sludge quantity and characteristics generated from the wastewater treatment plant,
Conducting technical reviews for the anaerobic digestion process and creating the process design,
Calculation of biogas production potential and assessment of electricity generation capacity,
Comparison of different disposal and energy recovery alternatives from technical and economic perspectives,
Determining the equipment, infrastructure, and operational needs for the anaerobic digestion and energy production system,
Conducting analyses of investment, operational, and maintenance costs,
Presenting all data collected within the project as a feasibility report to the employer.
