BOTAŞ - Consultancy Service for the BTC Oil Pipeline Route: Post-Accident Phase 4 Hydrogeological Monitoring, Data Collection, Pollution Inspection, Conceptual Site Model Study, and Cleaning Activities Around the BVT16 Valve
The studies to be carried out during the period referred to as "Phase 4" regarding the effects of crude oil leaking from the BVT-16 valve of the BTC pipeline have been determined as a result of consultations with the CONSULTANT, EMPLOYER, ADMINISTRATION, field operator BOTAŞ International Limited (BIL), and pipeline owner BTC Company (BTC). In line with the conceptual model developed in previous studies, an agreement was reached on opening new monitoring wells and conducting the work primarily under the following 8 main headings.
Description of the services provided by your personnel within the scope of the task:
• Ensuring project coordination,
• Field supervision, lithological and hydrogeological characterization, and logging activities during the drilling of monitoring wells,
• Conducting and evaluating pump (permeability) tests,
• Systematic monitoring of crude oil leakage and natural remediation processes at certain intervals, collecting samples from wells and interpreting analysis results during the evaluation of cleaning activities on a monthly basis,
• Preparing soil and groundwater pollution maps, evaluating oil leakage, and updating the conceptual site model,
• Presenting solution proposals for soil and groundwater remediation,
• Evaluating application solutions developed in line with cleaning objectives and supervising field applications,
• Supervising and interpreting monitoring and sampling activities, supervising and evaluating periodic well measurements,
• Updating the database, preparing interim and final reports.
